Heather Thomas - Assistant Solicitor
Heather is a solicitor working in the child care team and she joined the firm in 2017.
Heather advises parents and family members where Children’s Services are involved and represents carers in public law care and supervision proceedings. Heather will work hard to ensure that the more marginalised and vulnerable members of society are afforded high quality legal representation and the right outcome for their case.
With a particular interest in immigration related issues or cases that have an international element, Heather also has experience in matters concerning forced marriage and works on international child abduction and relocation cases.
Heather is also experienced in representing individuals who have been subjected to domestic abuse and has a broad range of experience in private law children cases concerning child arrangement (contact and residence) disputes.
Passionate about access to justice, Heather sits on the executive committee for Young Legal Aid Lawyers (YLAL). YLAL is a national organisation that promotes the interests of junior lawyers working in legal aid and campaigns for a sustainable legal aid system.
In her spare time, Heather enjoys travelling, running and spending time with family & friends.
