Dawn Wilson - Director


Dawn qualified as a solicitor in 1996. She worked in private practice specialising in family law in the North East of England and London before joining the firm in March 2000. Dawn is a member of the Law Society's Children Panel and the Association of Lawyers for Children. She acts for children, Guardians and parents in care and adoption proceedings.
Dawn has worked for local authorities and acted as legal advisor to a local authority's adoption panel. Dawn has a holistic understanding of the care and adoption process and is able to use this unique perspective to assist her clients.

Dawn also assists prospective adoptive parents who are faced with a birth parent's challenge to the adoption of their child at both the preliminary permission (leave) stage and at the contested adoption stage.  The Children and Family Law Act 2014, which was implemented in April 2014, brought changes to the law regarding adoption and contact post adoption. Dawn advises and assists upon the practical implications of these changes.

Dawn is a Higher Rights Advocate (Civil) and undertakes her own advocacy where possible.

In her spare time Dawn enjoys astronomy and archaeology.
