Heather works in the child care team.

She advises and represents parents and family members where Children’s Services are involved and in public law care and supervision proceedings. Heather is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and represents children directly or through their Children’s Guardian. She strives to ensure that the more marginalised and vulnerable members of society are afforded high quality legal representation and a just outcome for their case.

With a particular interest in cases that have an international element or involve immigration related issues, Heather also has experience in matters concerning forced marriage and international child abduction and relocation cases. She is also experienced in representing individuals who have been subject to domestic abuse and has a broad range of experience in private law children cases concerning child arrangement (contact and residence) disputes in addition to experience in adoption and surrogacy.

Passionate about access to justice, Heather sat on the executive committee for Young Legal Aid Lawyers for a number of years and is now a Trustee for Legal Action Group. She also sat for some time as a school governor at a local primary school in Hackney. Heather was shortlisted as Family Lawyer of the year at 2017’s Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year awards.

In her spare time, Heather enjoys travelling, running and spending time with family and friends.
